Is your credit card number something you can remember without looking at it, or would you always need to refer to the card first?

Ok, I don't have photographic memory, so I don't remember just by looking at it once or twice. Also it's pretty rare that I actually look at the number (enter it to make payment and stuff), so I don't remember the number.

I can't remember my CC numbers but I could, until recently (I've changed accounts), remember my bank account number and sort code.

Is this because you checked the bank account number often or you tried to remember?

Just because I used the account on a pretty much daily basis and wrote the account number down again and again when paying in. After a while, it was just ingrained in my memory.

If you don't mind my asking, exactly how did you end up writing down the account number so often? (I seldom write down my account number, and I really don't need to; I presume most people don't need to write down their account number for any reason).

That's how I memorized my bank account #.

Writing it on deposit slips and on the back of checks over and over...

I just go to bank and hand my check to bank teller. Bank teller fills out all information on deposit slip for me except for my signature. This is why I hardly remember when was the last time I wrote down my bank account number by myself.

Sounds like a nice bank, I never heard of that.

Actually, when I worked a summer job for a hospital there was a bank next door, and one time the teller lady did this for me, unfortunately she picked the wrong account and it took quite a while before they found my money...

Bank of America. I'm not so sure if this is their standard practice or not. When I had Citibank account a while back, they didn't do this for us (though it's not that I'm upset about it).

Sorry, I missed the question... like Andrew, by writing it on deposit slips.

I have had a few memorized, but haven't used them enough recently to have them memorized. I think the only times I'ved used any recently that didn't get billed automatically is to buy grocies.
