Shares in Northern Rock are down more than 25% today. NR is responsible for around 1 in 5 mortgages in the UK. What do you make of the apparent current crisis? Could NR go bust?

I doubt that they will go bust but they may be targets for a takeover.

Wit hte government's assurance today, I would think they are now in a much stronger position. Still a takeover possible, I would imagine, but maybe we'll see the share price head back upwards tomorrow.

Yep, around 10% up today. Thankfully, I bought around lunchtime yesterday, at 263p (they got as low as 261p). Not a lot... it's a bit risky for my liking, but so far so good.
