I am a web designer. I am looking into the possibility of expanding my web solutions business into an actual office with hired staff, and such, once I move out of the cornfields of central IL and get to a decent metropolitan area.

I've been building websites "professionally" since November 2004 and since then have gotten into selling logo design, hosting, SEO services and such. I bought up a bunch of domains late last year and plan to sell quite a few of them but develop some as well.

Another one who does not take abuse or idiocy from bosses ..., one who takes his/her own destiny into his/her own hand ...

Good for you ...

What kind of domains did you get? I am sceptical as to whether this is an area that you can make money on nowadays, unless you invest heavily in some very desirable names...

I don't have domains that concentrate on one certain theme, even though many recommend that.. I guess you could say I have some variety within my portfolio.

Here are a few of the ones that I own:
bf2strike.com
themyspaceplace.com
acidicstudios.net (& .biz)
getnettraffic.com
morenettraffic.com
sitedesignhq.com
nameplanners.net
optionpoker.net

I actually agree with you, at this point, and will probably go back to what I know once I get rid of or the ones I already own. I'll probably liquidate quite a few and resort to developing most of the others.
