We'll have to see. I do think he's serious about this, but announcements like this are made quite often; not everyone actually donates the amount of money that he/she promised to donate. We'll have to see if he actually donates the amount of money that he promised to donate.

That's a good point. I understand it's particularly true when governments pledge money in the wake of disasters (eg. the tsunami disaster).

I'm not saying that he's a liar, but I think it's a bit early for us to say "Wow, he is a great philanthropist."
