Damn, you've been far too busy lately. Smile

I got this internet connection almost 3 weeks ago, but I had to spend much time on administrative issues. Plus, I was really behind; I had to do a few things to cover up 3 week of absence before that. Actually, I am suffering from a minor damage caused by that. I will catch up and will do better than ever though (speaking optimistically).

I can sympathise with you on feeling behind. I am feeling the same for different reasons right now as my priorities have been elsewhere, away from work, lately.

Yes. It's been a rather hectic three months to say the least. Amazingly, my figures for December are fractionally up on the previous December, and the business as a whole is doing better so far this year than it was at the same point last year.

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased considering. The business has done a little better every year since I started it around 13 years ago. I like to think this will continue but I think there will come a time when I plateau.

I'm sure you're doing just fine.

What's your main source of revenue? From people sub-contracting work to you?

Actually running online ads (contextual ads, etc.) pays enough for me to get by. A part of maintenance work overlaps with a simple service that I can provide to a small business, so I do that as a contract work; I'm happy to make extra dollars, but it's not much ...

I can and maybe I should take another contract work to save up some money so that I can hire an employee comfortably.

I have often wondered about that. Contextual advertising on a small scale doesn't make a huge amount of money but, by India standards, it's probably not bad. I guess in India you can easily get by on $20-$30 a day, and it's not too difficult to get to that kind of level with AdSense, given a little time. Are there many people in India trying to get in on the AdSense revenue model?

My wild guess is no for a couple of reasons.

1. Most (educated) Indian people are not very familiar with US politics, economy or culture, so they cannot really create good content targeting US audience.

2. They are more familiar with UK politics, but I doubt if they can start creating relevant content for UK audience right away.

3. If you don't target US or UK, then you have to target India, but given India's per capita income, ... I kind of doubt if you can make a lot of money by running contextual ads targeting Indian audience only. Story will be very different 5 years from now, but it's not that easy today.

... I have to emphasize that this is just my wild guess.
