What do you guys think of Web Cards? My bank offers them and they are an easy way to get a virtual credit card without any hassles. My bank has now offered me the option to affiliate with them to offer these cards to visitors on one of my sites. Do you think there is a big market for these or do you think people prefer an actual card? _________________ Affiliate Talk - Internet Marketing Community |

So these are credit cards where you don't actually get a card... is that it?
I guess that could work, but it limits its potential use. Personally, I'd prefer an actual card - something that is tangible - because that's what I'm used to. _________________ Business Forums - Business Add URL

I think that I would rather a physical card too. But I imagine that there are a lot of people out there that only use a CC online since they have a debit card for all of there everyday purcahses.
You could also use that card and only that card for online purchases so you will know what is going on it someone charges an online purchase to your physical card. _________________ HoserNews |

I've never really seen the point in debit cards myself. I'd sooner have the extra 30 days interest. |
There are some people out there, my parents, who can't control their impulse buying. For them, if they see the balance on their CC they will spend it.
This is where the Debit card has saved them, they now only use the CC for reservations, and they use the debit for EVERYTHING else. It is the next best thing from cash
This is one of the first things that personal finance coaches say, lose the CC and go cash. _________________ HoserNews |

I can see how a debit card works for some people. However, I feel that those people should just be educated when it comes to money, spending, etc. It isn't complicated and shouldn't be difficult to discipline yourself accordingly. Remain disciplined and you will actually ultimately be better off by using a CC.
That said, I probably see it to simplistically because I can discipline myself... I don't know. _________________ Business Forums - Business Add URL

Everyone has their weakness, some it is coffee, some it is too much beer and others is buying without thinking.
With a CC it is easy to get in a large hole, but that is harder with a debit card which is essentially cash.
I am like you, I think about why I need/want it and then make the judgment on whether or not I am going to buy it. It is like poker for me. In poker I am always looking for a reason to FOLD my hand, not to CALL. So in life I am always looking for reasons not to buy something, where others will look for reasons to rationalize their purchase. _________________ HoserNews |
