Those of you that invest in shares... what industries does your portfolio cover?

And what would you like to cover next that you don't already?

Right now the only stock I own aside from mutual funds is AAPL - Apple.

I'm reminiscing about the old days when it was up over $190 but hey ... at least its up over the past year!

At least it's up over the past year. That's not bad in the current climate. My main success currently is with Rio Tinto in the FTSE. Not all that much to be pleased with right now, apart from that one.

Mine covers just about everything, with the emphasis on low cost low fee. One of my favorite types of holdings are the exchange traded funds (ETFs) representing foreign nations paying relatively high dividends. It's like a foreign dividend factory. Excellent for tax sheltered accounts where you don't have to pay taxes - or a foreign tax on stuff especially.

As for what I am not covering that I would like to, that would be some tangible collectibles.

A lot of mine have struggled a little over the last 6 months but I'm in it for the long term so am not too worried.

The biggest exception to the rule for me has been my mining stocks. I've been particularly pleased with how well I've done with http://finance.google.com/finance?q=LON%3ARIO (click for the 1 year graph and you'll see how nicely it's grown)

Yeah, they do well. I have a little of everything, mining, bullion, etc. that whole sector has been great. I just gotta rebalance once in a while (like once or twice a year).
