Who here is on a diet?

Do you have to be careful about what you eat? Or do you just eat anything and not really worry about it?

I am not on a "diet" perse, however I do watch what I eat and I keep a very detailed record of everything that I do eat.

I find that this is a very good way to ensure that I am not going overboard.

Not exactly. I’m trying to gain some weight actually. I lost some weight this summer and I want to gain back what I lost …

Many people would envy you there. I am carrying a bit too much weight myself. A few months ago I came back from a holiday in France where I over-indulged and I decided then that it's time I got back on track. I've been doing it slowly and have lost around 10 pounds since then. I probably still have another 14 or so that I ought to shift, I reckon.

Indian food is actually pretty heavy. It’s a kind of food that makes you gain weight if you eat everyday. But during this summer, because of the heat outside, I just couldn’t eat cooked food. I was eating fruits and yogurt mostly. After doing that for a couple of weeks, I lost a fair amount of weight. Now that the weather is more comfortable, I am eating cooked food normally. Since I walk to work and walk back everyday, I’m really not gaining much weight though.

I am on a diet in the sense that i am diabetic, so always 'diet' is top of my thoughts when eating.

www.absolutelyflabulous.com is great for support while losing weight.

Do you really consider it a diet though?

Most people put negative conotations on"diet" I think that what you eat should depending on your circs/lifestyle.

I change my "diet" depending on what I am doing and planning on doing. If I am going to be doing a lot of hiking then I try to trim down some, if I am going to be doing a lot of sports then I eat what is needed so that I can play to the best of my abilities. If am not going to be doing much of anything then I cut back on the refined stuff and meat.

I always have to watch what I eat due to my fondness of sweets. It sucks being so tempted all the time, I can tell you that.

Well, here I am once again trying to shed a few pounds. I'm not all that overweight, but probably around 15 pounds heavier than perhaps I ought to be. This time the motivating factor is a holiday to Switzerland at the end of the month. I'm sure the Swiss won't be too keen to see my midrift in its current state at the poolside, so I'm trying to do something about it in the few weeks I have left. I'm avoiding alcohol, eating healthily and - perhaps my biggest problem - watching my portion sizes.
